Password reset basics
Always use the official site/app for password resets. If you don’t receive an email, check spam and ensure your recovery email is current. Do not follow password reset links from unsolicited messages.
Lost 2FA device
If you used an authenticator app and lost the device, use stored backup codes to regain access. Without backups, contact verified support and be ready to provide proof of account ownership (recent activity, personal details).
After recovery — harden your account
- Rotate your password immediately.
- Re-enroll 2FA and create fresh backup codes.
- Revoke unknown sessions and rotate API tokens.
